Blue Doodles

Here is another pair of bracelet, earring and pendant set. You will be able to see beautiful pink and red doodles over it. Blue being a symbol of elegance .will suit any attire!

This time I thought instead going round..i will go square..a better shape to maintain throughout. Initial feedback that i received

1) Take pics in daylight!
2) Pendant is too small

Well..apart from that this one got rave reviews when i wore it to office. :) Inspired for the next.

I was in hyderabad this weekend..and have bought some varieties of pearls..So of course is the theme for the next week..

Drop in your feedback!

Candy pink knitted print-II

And here are the finished bracelets ! I tried all the combinations and it goes best with only tibetan silver beads. I tried using tube beads(first one) and the that looks the best once you wear.

Here is the feedback that i received and take away for me when i make my next design

1) The round is not perfect
2) The thickness of some pieces vary

I think i need to be more careful while slicing the 3D canes..also i need to ensure that the diameter is constant. Tough ask! hard polymer clay has the least distortions but at the same time least workability..the moment i soften adding plasticizer..difficult to control the distortions..

Candy pink knitted print-I

Hi,

This is my first blog post. So let me introduce you to my work. My avarice for creative pursuits has taken a new form these days as many of you already know, handmade jewelry! It is a range of hand printed jewelry using skin friendly light weight polymer clay(clay is a misnomer, it gets that name because of its work ability like clay). Polymer blocks are available in the market and is conditioned first and any pattern can be made as it has the consistency of a dough, and then it is baked in an OTG for half an hour. It gets hardened and retains all the details made, the end product is waterproof and colours don't get faded too. What more versatility a material can offer to lure an artists heart?

Now, how is it handprinted- if you will observe they are neither painted or machine printed..they are intricate patterns laid out by hand with an interplay of different colors leading to dazzling patterns. This is adapted from a technique called "Millefiori"  an ancient italian glasswork technique which produces repeated decorative patterns for glasswork. I have simply used polymer instead of glass with some modifications in the process. Finally the finish, to give it a more sophisticated look, I have converted it to a mixed media jewelry by embellishing it with tibetan silver, pearls, swarovski crystals, semi precious stones, kundan stones etc.I am also exploring new techniques and innovative, eco friendly materials like bamboo..wood,cane strips..natural fibres etc to get woven into the magic of polymer clay! Also, all the findings used are lead and nickel free which is adds to the charming designs.

I will be launching them under the name "Koral Tree collections". Before a pre launch I wanted to blog it to read the pulse and take valuable feedback from my dear girlie friends and the other creative buddies..I am looking for your support to create a master piece and launch an enticing range of trinkets :) I will be adding my work in progress where i need your valuable inputs and also flaunting off my final collections every week with a new pattern and new colour theme. This is also an attempt to keep my spirits high !

So this week it is : "candy pink knitted print"

These are handmade flat round pink beads. Hope you can see the intricate designs made in black. I am planning to make a bracelet out of it. Guys, I have listed the options for stringing as shown in picture above.

1) Tibetan silver spacers+Rose Jade stone
2) Tibetan silver spacers+ Freshwater pearl
3) Only Tibetan silver spacers
4) Only freshwater pearl
5) Only Rose Jade stone

Making earrings and bracelets on charming pink is this weekend project! Will keep you posted.

I am looking forward for a great journey with all of you :)

PS: Bear with the pathetic photography. I will be getting better at it.

Thanks,
